For the Love of the Divine
Thania Petersen, 2022
One of our earliest aistic collaborations at the atelier was with our now
dear friend Thania Petersen, for and with whom we embroidered and
created a Checheya, showed during her 2022 ‘Can We Sing Together
Again, Old Friend’ Exhibition at Le 32 Bis A center in Tunis, curated by
Camille Lévy Saati.
The works exhibited were the result of Thania’s residency in Tunisia, pa
of which she spent with us in Mahdia, to collaborate on the making of a
Checheya, a traditional Tunisian headpiece, and a rather extraordinary
one, a bouquet, a mystical presence.
Materials: Felt embroidered with silk, linen, silk thread, silk velvet, Brass
and collected glass.
