Our collection tells the story of our small family at the atelier, how it evolved and came to be a space for co-creation to interpret the present moment and our material and immaterial patrimony with joy and generosity, sealing these energies between the threads and in the soul and fabric of our pieces. This is our ethos, and our hope is to draw smiles and bring feelings of joy and hope to those seeing our work. It means what we do can help us bridge through peoples and worlds.
These bridges happen very organically as they form the DNA of our embroidery work. We fuse local embroidery techniques or points with ‘foreign’ ones that we either experiment with as they are or reinterpret. Besides embroidery techniques, we mix different kinds of threads, from the ones deemed ‘noble’ to ‘poor’ to some that can be quite unusual, breaking connotations and hierarchies between threads of wool and silk for instance.
Our choice to work with diverse materials is also born within a tight network of friends from different landscapes in the world. This is what makes our atelier a place of connection. By mixing local threads with raffia leaves from Madagascar, Cisale from central Africa, silk thread from China, Cachemire from South West Asia, Mohair from Turkey we activate special kinds of exchange and dialogue between threads and worlds become even closer.
On display here are the atelier’s embroidered pieces available for acquisition. Send us an email for any inquiries. Prices upon request via email.
