Rouge Le Pompon Qui Terminera Votre Nae, Heureuse Fille Aux Cheveux Longs, 2023
Chalisée Naamani
After her visit to our atelier and creative exchanges, multiple pieces
were embroidered in our atelier as pa of Chalisée Naamani’s installa-
tion at the October 2023 ‘Hirafen’ Exhibition, gathering contemporary
aists and aisanscurated by Ludovic Delalande and Nadia Jelasssi.
The installation which reconstitued a confection atelier in a hybrid
industrial-aisanal world, featured some hand-embroidered pieces
made in our atelier:
A classic white linen dress that serves as under garment in the Tunisian
city of Mahdia, our city, embroidered in black silk. The embroidery on the
dress is a representation of the trajectory of the life of the woman, bih,
life market by the event of marriage and death.
Embroidery of a limited set of bags modelled over trip plastic bags
usually found in bazar stores. Print motif is the trace that the weaving
of the Mahdia bride’s cape leaves on the protective silk paper.
Lastly, a pair of Alfa embroidered human hand holding a red hair tie
showing the Tunisian flag, in reference to the national flag, represen-
ting the freedom of the post-independence nation, inspired by aicles
and drawings from the post-independence 60s Tunisian Faiza ladies’
magazine. (Main image)
